LEXX had the amazing opportunity to look into the start of Girl World Inc & actually hear it from the founder herself! From one business owner to another, here's a look deeper into Shannon's business!
Why did you start your business? & What drives you?
"I started my business back in 2016 specifically for hair resale but I rebranded in 2019 after realizing I had so many talents and other interests that could be combined together into one platform. Girl World was inspired specifically by my family. I was raised by a woman who was raised by a woman who produced another woman. My family is predominately women. Being that I had a love for beauty I wanted to create my own world specifically for women to transform, be beautiful, and show up as the best versions of themselves."
2. What's your suggestion for achieving business growth quickly?
"My suggestions for achieving business growth quickly is definitely first branding your business and having a great presentation. Also introducing yourself personally to your social media followers before introducing what you sell. I've learned that people buy people before they buy products."
3. What makes your business unique?
"What makes my business unique is that it's not subject to just makeup. I have certification classes, e-books, apparel, self care products and provide daily motivation to my community. There's so much more coming soon."
4. What would be the one thing if you had unlimited resources, what would you do to improve your business?
"If I had unlimited resources to funding my business. I'd definitely expand worldwide so that every city, state, & country could experience Girl World."
5. How would you describe your work style?
"My work style is comfortable, I like to be able to show up as myself instead of showing up as who people think I am. Authenticity is very important to me, that's how you not only gain clients and customers but it's also how you keep them."
6. Who is your target audience for your business?
"My target audience is the working girl, career based, financially stable, makeup artists, beauty influencers, and beauty bloggers and middle aged women."
