1. What bigger brands do you look to for marketing inspiration?
“I look at other well known candle brands and study them to see how they attract their target audience. I listen to podcast episodes that they may have been on and they all say the same thing, “Just do it. Never be afraid to make a post. Everything won’t be perfect. Stop being your biggest critic.” I take their advice and I’ve stopped being so worried about my social media posts now.”
2. How does inflation affect your prices?
“I’m a little late to the party in regards to raising the price on my products. When I started my brand, I always wanted my candles to be affordable. Due to the circumstances that we are dealing with right now though, I have no choice but to go up. I believe that my returning customers will continue to support my business because they always receive products of great quality.”
3. What do you do when you feel like giving up?
“Sometimes it can be hard being an entrepreneur. You may experience being burnt out or feel as if you aren’t working hard enough. When I feel like giving up, I take a step back and try to take my mind off of whatever the current situation is at the moment. After a day or two, I’ll analyze the current situation and get back in the groove of entrepreneurship.”
4. How has entrepreneurship affected your mental health?
“Entrepreneurship hasn’t affected my mental health in a bad way. If anything, it has definitely made me come up with a schedule and actually stick to it so that I can prioritize self care. Entrepreneurs get so busy and tied up into their business that they forget about themselves. I’ve always told myself that I wouldn’t be that entrepreneur who works non stop 24/7.”
5. Looking back, would you change anything about your journey?
“I’ve hit so many milestones and I haven’t been in business a full year yet. So no, I would not change a thing. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.”
