Have you ever met someone who flows like the wind? They are really free in their minds & don’t really have a foundation. The thing about God is that he’s a solid foundation. He can provide the answers that you’re looking for. It’s okay to ask your friends and family for answers because you feel they have experience dealing with whatever you may be going through but because of that experience they also have a persuaded view or perspective. For example, say you want to move out of state. Your friend thinks it’s a great idea since where you’re going is popular. You choose to ask someone else to get a second opinion. They would never leave their hometown. They’ve had bad experiences. They can’t grow past their trauma. Now you feel differently about it. Certain days it’s easier to make a decision and other days it’s challenging but that’s where God comes in. He’s going to lay out all the facts for you. He’s going to work in your favor. He’s going to make sure that the decision you make benefits you in every way. You’re not going to make the right decision all the time but if you have the wisdom to decipher things it’ll clear things up for you. God is always going to be there to listen to you, carry you through, & provide unbiased guidance.
Think back to the last time you had a goal. How much work did you put into it? How long did it take? What kept you going? When it comes to faith, you have to keep going. There’s no mark where you can check your progress. God isn’t going to send you a notification with updates. You just have to know that your work is working. You have to know that each day you’re a step closer. Faith isn’t a tangible object or concept. It’s the belief that greater is coming. It’s your foundation to hope. When you decide to persevere, you’re no longer lacking which means doubt starts to diminish. Everyone has moments where it’s more comfortable to see the facts, make an assumption, & run with it. When you have thoughts like those, acknowledge where they stem from & think positively. Lean more into prayer when you feel like your mind is becoming consumed with thoughts of fear, doubt, or lack of progress.
Think about that one thing. It’s the thing you want the most. It’s comforting to you. It’s value in your life is tremendous. Do you really think you can have it? Let me rephrase. Do you BELIEVE you can have it? When it comes to prayer, it’s different for everyone. Your relationship with God is different from everyone else’s. When you go to God in prayer here’s a few things to keep in mind:
Make sure you have a clear mind & you’re in a quiet place
Don’t worry about what to say, just speak from your heart
Don’t be afraid to be specific. Where you’re talking about your struggles or your dreams.
God already knows. Be honest.
