“My name is Monica Taylor and I’m the owner of Mica Honey LLC. I’m a full time Soldier in the U.S. Army. I began entrepreneur journey back in 2017 and I’m very proud of what I’ve created. The nickname Mica Honey was given to me by grandmother from a lullaby she used to sing to me. The lyrics of the lullaby describe Mica Honey as the best girl in the world and a friend until the end; two valuable aspects of every women’s life.”
“Firstly, being confident and believing you are the best in the world and second, being a compassionate, nurturing, caring, and loving person to everyone (especially women). Through this simple message I wanted the Mica Honey brand to embody something all women can relate to.”
1. How do you sell value?
“I believe that having a product that serves a purpose is very important. It can make the difference between a customer purchasing once or being a loyal customer. The purpose of my product is ultimately to educate black women on information they may not know and remind them of the information they do know. I sell value through educating.”
2. What’s going to help further your business this year?
“This year I plan to promote more with quality content. I want to create content that catches the eye, promotes positivity and compels people to engage with me.”
3. How often do you plan content? Any tips you’d like to share?
“Weekly. My biggest tip would be to take 1-2 hours on the weekend to plan all your content. Pictures, captions, hashtags, everything!”
4. When it comes to creating, how do you find inspiration?
“How I find inspiration is kind of difficult to pinpoint. It usually happens naturally while I’m doing my day to day activities. I’ll usually have an idea and see a vision in my head. Once I have the vision I’ll research a little bit to see how I can get it done. Pinterest, Instagram and good ol Google are my staples.”
5. How would you recommend a new entrepreneur to sell quality since potential customers can’t physically become aware?
“You can always promote quality by using your own product and showing how it elevated your lifestyle. People want to see benefits.”
